Community Tasting Notes 3

  • vines4humanity Does not like this wine: 89 points

July 25, 2013 - Yes we give it the 89 point kiss of mediocrity. One dimensional overripe plums. Best enjoyed with a mild Montecristo cigarillo.

November 10, 2010 - Lacks the mellowness of a true port. Persists with a lot of alcoholic burn that didn't relent with breathing (even after a few months opened but recorked on our port shelf). Thin legs (for a port), nose is mostly the alcohol, with a little leather and pepper. Tastes of the alcohol, some blackcurrant and raspberry flavors with tannic drying of the mouth. Finish is reasonable and mildly fruity.

Age might help but we just have the one bottle, so can't comment on longevity.
