December 4, 2006 - Beautiful nose: Dark cherries, fresh berries, a touch of plum, chocolate, and cedar. Surprisingly light on the palate, but the flavors ring through clearly, although I detected a slight sour note amid otherwise nice, tangy acidity. Medium-length finish tasting mostly of cedar. Nose rates 91-92, but it falls off a bit in the mouth.
The wine faded a bit after an hour, so pop and drink. What a great surprise this was! Bottle stored at the Strongbox in Chicago which I cannot praise too highly as a storage facility.
