April 24, 2022 - Medium garnet. On the nose medium plus intensity aromas of roses, sandalwood, vanilla, black tea, dried red cherries, compost, earth, leather. On the palate the wine is dry with high acidity, high ripe tannins fine grained, high alcohol, medium plus body. The flavor intensity is pronounced with flavors of roses, red plum, red currants, sandalwood, vanilla, black tea, dried red cherries, compost, earth, leather. The finish is medium plus with vanilla and dried fruit. The wine is outstanding and hitting its peak just now. Most definitely worth the wait.

July 7, 2019 - Absolutely singing on the nose, with cherry drops, menthol. Palate was rich and smooth. Very strong.

September 13, 2018 - Awesome, just starting to get ready. Nose is astonishing, dry wild flowers, cigar box, leather, a little plum, but pleasant. Mouth is nearly overwhelming, tanins still very present, firms, mouth watering. Really enjoyed!

July 2, 2018 - (Tasted at a dinner in Piedmont at Osteria dell'Arco) -- The nose was dark and intense with sweet spices, tobacco and dried florals giving way to masses of black cherry and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, I found silky textures, offset by a wave of vibrant dark red fruits, which were propelled by a mix of zesty acidity, spice and minerals, as youthful tannin slowly mounted yet never got in the way. The finish was long, showing saturating dark red fruits with hints of grippy tannin and dark inner floral tones.

This is so easy to like already, and shows a great mix of the producers style along with 2005's vintage character.

August 4, 2017 - Oak has gone. Great mouthfeel, smooth. Good rich dark fruit, some menthol. Second night it had lost itself, so seems like this is not going to move up from here.
