April 6, 2024 - Had this wine before and during dinner with friends. Lively berry flavors and was a delight to drink. I want to find more of this wine for my cellar.

November 2, 2019 - The cork was in perfect condition, and the wine has been properly stored since purchased (from Thackrey directly), nonetheless, the wine is such a different animal from the last time tasted, I am concerned that I may have kept the bottle too long. The profile is of big, dark, fat, flat, and slightly bitter...
I have put a stopper in the bottle, and will come back to it in 24hrs. Sometimes things need time to come around. If this note is not subsequently revised, you may presume that there was no change.
I hope this is not symptomatic of my having kept the bottle too long; if so, I have 3 others that may befall the same fate. Ugh.

March 16, 2014 - This is so primary you'd have a hard time believing the fruit is now seven years old. A melange of red fruits on the nose—raspberry, strawberry, cherry—along with eucalyptus, licorice, and incense. The palate packs a huge punch with slightly candied red fruit. The intensity of aromas and flavors is extreme. Clocking in at 14.8% alcohol, this is pretty boozy, although it doesn't get in the way of the fruit. Pair with hearty food. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.

September 30, 2013 - Really interesting nose. On first pour there are notes of redcurrant and a little VA high tone. With time aromas develop of toast, green pepper and marzipan. Really complex but light on its feet. The first glass has the classic concentrated ripe fruit and eucalyptus character of a Barossa Shiraz yet this is light on its feet and elegantly styled. With time in the glass it becomes more creamy with waves of fruit, a little prune character, roses, frangipane and apricot. Very long finish with a lovely lingering gingerbread sweet pie crust flavour. Superb.

July 5, 2013 - Popped and poured, consumed over next 60 minutes. Has continued to improve. Best bottle yet.
