February 2, 2020 - Definitely a well stored and well aged bottle, but that's about as far as I'll go. Very mild tertiary notes (maybe a little nuttiness), which was surprising for a wine of it's age. Acidity still there. Very little offered on the front and middle of the wine--basically like an overripe but not sweet honeydew melon. Some guava and pear as it opened. Finish redeemed the wine--was long, honeyed, and multifaceted.

December 1, 2019 - WSET 3 Workshop with Michael H; 12/1/2019-12/2/2019 (Temecula, CA): Medium amber; Pronounced intensity, tired/past its peak aromas of secondary yeast (cheese, dough), tertiary bottle age (honey, nutty, mushroom, hay), tertiary dried fruit (dried apricot, dried apple, dried prune) and tertiary signs of oxidation (caramel, apple cider vinegar). Dry, med acidity, med alcohol, med(-) body, med intensity, med finish. Tertiary dried fruit (apple, apricot, pear), tertiary bottle age (ginger, toast, honey, nutty, hay, mushroom) and signs of tertiary oxidization (almond, caramel, apple cider vinegar). This is a good wine; Too old.

While clearly 3-5 years past its peak, this wine, especially on the aromatic side, has a lot of interesting layers. First time tasting an older Meursault and was a fun experience.

Lot's of brioche, butter and hazelnuts. Rich deep creamy palate with a medium length.
