January 29, 2024 - Burgundy Dinner with a Bordeaux Producer (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Seemingly roasted fruit to start, then obviously corked when smelled in a larger glass.

October 14, 2022 - This wine is deep and rich as one would expect from a Richebourg. It does not have any roasted qualities that might be expected in a 2003. However, it is also missing much in the way of secondary flavors and I worry that the fruit might be diminished by the time the secondary notes emerge. Let's see what happens.

September 16, 2019 - TNs: Female Burgundy Winemakers Dinner (Yan, National Gallery, Singapore): This was smashing - really surprisingly good for a 2003. I really liked the nose on this, with its deep aromas of dark cherries couched in more savoury tones of earth and meat, and then lovely drifts of Vosne spice. Very nice. The palate was very expressive - rich, ripe and delicious, it unfolded in the mouth with wafts of dark cherries, berries and plums, riding on a savoury underlayer of earth and spice. Very nice. There was maybe a hint of Anne Gros' usual elegance here, but this was certainly less graceful of a wine than say the 2007 that preceded it, lacking some of the filigreed finesse of the earlier wine. Still though, this was delicious, and really impressively balanced for a 2003. Nice long finish too, with sweet, dark cherries patted down with a touch of earth. A lovely wine, drinking fairly well now, but still with some room for improvement.

June 12, 2016 - Drank with David F as a pop and pour. This was a dark cherry red wine. The nose was explosive, with notes of cherry, spice box, a bit of orange zest, and general earthiness. The mouth and finish were both smooth and highly enjoyable. This wine shows its pedigree and purity of breeding, but is not readily identifiable as Pinot. I think the 2003 heat touched, but didn't mar, this wine.

May 3, 2014 - Tastevin. Very rich and over ripe nose of dark and red fruit. Some said slightly burnt, but I didn't get that. More dark and concentrated fruit on the palate. Not as over done as some 2003, but no where near as elegant as the 2002 we had next to it. Great balance and integration. Long finish. Concentrated. Big for AG.
