  March 22, 2024 - Definitely in worse shape than the previous bottle we opened last year. This one is quite rusty-brownish in color. Lots of iron and dried cherry on the nose. Not oxidized, but rather lifeless. Quite flat with very little fruit left.

  July 23, 2023 - To be fair I had no expectations when I pulled this out of the cellar today. Just the need to taste something wet and red while we wait for the boeuf bourguignon to do it's thing in the oven (repeating last weekend's dinner because it was just so good). This is a very inexpensive, nothing special, no more than $10-when-I-bought-it bottle that's been lying forgotten in the cellar for more than a decade.
  
  The color is a translucent brick red with rusty orange edges. Clearly not young anymore. The nose has notes of red currant and dried fruits, along with cola and allspice. No stinky, cheap, medicinal notes in sight. Already, this is a win for such an inexpensive wine. Upon tasting, there were prunes, a little menthol, and some graphite. This is not a fancy bordeaux, but neither is it swill. It was quite a pleasant surprise and worthy of a $10 bill.
