  September 7, 2010 - Popped and poured. Aroma was bitter and overpowering. Initial taste was bitter, bitter and more bitter. That subsided through the mid-palate and gave way the deep cherry and cola flavors before a tannin free finish. I let sit in the glass for about 30 minutes; when I returned the bitterness had faded. There was still lots of cherry and cola, and now maybe some tobacco flavors. The finish started nicely but at the very end faded and brought back some of the bitter taste from earlier. A 2nd glass after the bottle had been opened 45 minutes was still quite bitter. Once again, though, the wine improved with some wine in the glass. There is more than 1/2 a bottle left, and I will be interested how it tastes this evening.

  January 19, 2010 - This wine was tasted as a flight in a dimly lit restaurant with other aromas.
  
  Dark inkly color with scents of violets, lavendar and smokey spices. The smell was very purfume like. The sip presented cherry and a zesty spice. A definite score at only $10
