November 22, 2012 - So lovely! Light non-obtrusive sparkle, wonderful depth of flavor. A definite re-buy.

February 25, 2012 - Pale yellow color. Light effervescence. Fresh floral nose. Medium-bodied palate with pear, lime, and some light floral notes. Slightly sweeter than expected, even for a boutique Moscato. Medium length finish. Another nice Garagiste find.

April 25, 2011 - While others question the RS, I think it is to be expected and this is a fine example of artisan Moscato. Delicious and with a very long, flower filled, finish. Garagiste delivered on this one.

October 13, 2010 - Probably the finest example from the region that I have tried to day. It is a bit sweeter than usual, but has great freshness and is impossible to put down (and at 5% alcohol - no guilt in that). Other than the effervescence it could pass for a sweet Mosel riesling. Very nice.

(Moscato d?Asti IC) Moscato Dear Friends, After a long day, while riding the bus through town this afternoon, I reached into my tattered laptop bag and, instead of pulling the wireless card from the inner sleeve, an old pack of candy emerged instead - a pack of three year old Mentos that had somehow become part of the lining of my briefcase. It made me smile. It also made the old man sitting next to me smile...so I offered him one - we talked for the next 14 stops about everything and nothing and, in the end, I made a friend who relishes a fine glass of Madeira as well as good conversation. A moment in time courtesy of a three year old piece of strawberry yogurt candy. What does this have to do with wine? Not much (or maybe everything) but the slogan of Mentos, "The FreshMaker", has become a worldwide catch-phrase that is synonymous with the candy and today we bring you a freshmaker of a different sort: 2009 Moscato d'Asti picked, pressed, vinified and shipped to Seattle all within three months of the harvest. If you are trying to get a read on 2009, this lightly frizzante Moscato is a pure delight and it shows the strength of the 2009 growing season in spades. Bursting at the seams with a basket of fresh white skinned fruit and flowers rolled together like an adult version of a Shirley Temple on a mission (complete with whiffs of maraschino cherry), I will be very surprised if this isn't one of the more requested re-order items of the winter season. It's the perfect aperitif or terrace sipper and, come next summer, there are a myriad of gatherings that would benefit from a bottle (or three) this of this lovely example. Icardi's Moscato d'Asti and, in specific, their high-end bottling "La Rosa Selvatica" have received exemplary acclaim throughout the years - the 2009 should prove to be a highlight in the series. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY with the finest (freshest) provenance available: 2009 Icardi Moscato d'Asti (La Rosa Selvatica/750ml) (this is an especially crazy price) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy7492
