March 27, 2011 - This is the first time I've had a negroamaro. Interesting. Fruity and spicy. I'm not sure I'm happy with the price at $13, but I will definitely buy more of the varietal.

February 12, 2011 - Huge battle going here between old world and new. A fuzzy reslolution prevails and I'm left kind of puzzled, in a bad way. Definitely not the purist expression of this varietal but has its charms, no doubt. Your friends will like this, I give it a pass.

February 2, 2011 - color: purple; nose: barnyard (which I really enjoy); taste: bright light-to-medium mouth feel, clean-tasting nutmeg and cloves, tart but tasty medium-length finish and light tannins; overall: bravo -- a solid, complete Old World pleaser which would pair well with pork tenderloin, veal, or tomato sauce; excellent QPR at $11 and worth buying more of

Nose is clean, medium and youthful with mostly fruit aromas. The bottle was just opened. Some raisin.

Very different than the Maiana from this producer, and better for it.

The palate is dry, with medium + tannins, medium acid and a body weight of fruit that holds the two together. Flavor intensity is medium and based on fruit character with a touch of rasination showing, the finish is "tight" so short, but that is probably because the bottle was just opened.

    This is good at $16.
