March 27, 2012 - Earth, leather, tobacco, and black currant fruit on the nose. More earth, and loads of tannin on the palate. Mid-palate reveals some fruit and the tannins really set in. The wine finishes dry and earthy, but with a bit of fruit that keeps it interesting. This might mellow out some over the next couple of years, but I would fear the fruit may fade a bit. A good example of what Temecula has to offer. PJP and JJC 2012.
February 12, 2011 - Rich, full, and tannic. Benefits from an hour or two decant but well worth it! Richly fruity and big but with the earthy and acidic sensibilities to keep it lively and interesting. Beautiful with home made tomato based pasta sauce and italian sausage. Wish I had more.

June 22, 2010 - This wine’s nose is very woodsy. There is a distinct berry bush component and a definite presence of forest floor, mixed in with a nice amount of dark plum and a subtle dash of spice.
The flavor profile of this blend is very unique. It opens on melted raspberry jam, some dark cherry notes, and a touch of something like jalapeño. There is a bright, almost citrusy quality to the acidity, and there are some strong blood orange flavors that accompany it. Approaching the finish there is a blend of coffee and currant, and a delicate blend of violet floral notes that remind me somewhat of Mourvedre.
This wine seems pretty well made. It’s solid with a good amount of complexity, and varietal expression. It’s a different take on the grape than you get from Alto Adige, and despite its light and easy going construction, this is a pretty serious wine. Nicely balanced and pleasantly enjoyable, this would be a great place to start if you’re looking for something new, and wouldn’t mind a small investment to do so.

May 23, 2010 - Not bad, but robust!
March 21, 2010 - Very enjoyable. Nose of oak and earth reminiscent of a wine cellar. Big time blueberry taste that mellowed to smoky black cherry.
