April 22, 2021 - Aaron Was buying fruit for St Clement nearby, owned by O’Shannasy and he fell in love with the wines. Began searching for something similar in 2004. 75.88 AC with .3 AC of vine in bad condition paid $700K and it had a red wood house. Put all their own money in it. Farms by hand with 2005 first vintage, but 2007 original vintage released and made at quintessa. Clone 15 on 110R root stock, went to cane pruning. Made in barrel pinched down very simple no added yeast, just pure expression.

Only 11 cases made. Aarons mother helped harvest by hand along with best friends.

Dark ripe sweet aromas of red fruits in an extracted way. It was a magical vintage. Not a lot of heat spikes. A rare vintage at the time. No dehydration, perfect grapes. Nice red purple flavors with a rocky note, good zippy acid. Fruit just beginning to fade slightly with structure of acid brightness the note.

March 17, 2017 - 14.9% alcohol. Decanted. Another foray into the inaugural vintage. This isn't quite as explosive as other examples, but still very good. All have chewy tannin and massive fruit. No heat. I don't think the tannins will ever resolve, so I'm in the camp of accepting the style (big ass) for what it is and enjoy it now. Royal purple color, black and blue fruit. In the Napa cab world, Mr Pott seems to have his finger on the pulse. Recommended.

September 30, 2012 - Best of the Pott's, big mouth full of rustic fruits held tight by rich tanins and a long smooth ending

September 30, 2012 - 2007 Cal Cult Cabs (SE, Harlan, etc.) and a bunch more: On any other night... This is really good, but for most, it trailed. Geez, it only got 95 LS points. It is also very backwards and, along with the Harlan, shows the greatest chance to improve I think. The nose is sweet with cassis, oak and an herbal note that is very nice. Of course, we wondered if that might be pot, but I think I decided on a sweet tarragon. This is young and massive. It was pop and poured and air might have been a good idea. It needs time. I look forward to trying this again in five years.
