September 18, 2010 - A nose of sweet dark fruit, purple in color. A medium bodied Cab, some dark fruit, some spice, not all that complex, decent for the price.

August 10, 2010 - First off I'd like to say that the this wine is a decent wine for this price. I'd much rather pay the 11.99 for this cab then many other of the same price point. However, this is a very "middle-of-the-pack" effort, and the Other Guys seem to have priced it as such. The nose is lacking, not much fruit or spice and what spice there is is mixed with a mineral and charcoal or toast note. Many may think this has poop to spare yet I'd caution against that description and say instead of poop try oak toast. The actual taste is very closed, i.e. it is like a door that shuts right behind you. A decent mouth feel with some light tannin, the mid-palate is heavy with cherry skin and plum. The finish is unlike many cab's of this price, it's not trying to kill you with staying power, it is very level though-out and has surprising balance at the end. Overall the 2008 Leese-Fitch Cabernet Sauvignon is a good bottle to open with your Wednesday pizza or for the up-coming Monday nights. Finally, I'd like to acknowledge the synthetic cork, very enjoyable to open.

August 7, 2010 - Very soft, round, fruity wine. There's not much acidity to balance the fruit, and little underlying structure, so it comes across as rather flabby, with a touch of sweetness. More of a quaffer than a food-friendly wine. Not awful, but not what I look for in a Cabernet.
