    May 2, 2021 - 🏅 Rating 90+/100 (4,05⭐)

Tawny rim. First nose is intense balsamic and herbal. Prunes, roasted coffee beans. Dried rose. Dark chocolate. Oak reveals with aeration. Lacked the primary fruit aromas, very much into tertiary territory, which made me think this wine is more advanced than it should be at this age. We could blame challenging vintage for that.

I Sodi di San Niccolò is among prestige Super Tuscans. Blend of 85% Sangioveto, and 15% Malvasia Nera. Fermented in steel, malo in concrete vats and matured in 50% new French oak barriques for 24-30 months. Grapes come from organically managed single vineyard with carefully selected clones particularly for the best performance in this terroir. Low yields.

Each year label features the image of one out of many bird species from Chianti region as a tribute to the enviroment.

    Bottle №3049/22132

April 21, 2017 - Yet another nice surprise from the 2005 vintage in this part of Toscana - a wine that's still fresh, showing lots of structure and fruit that seems to have recently entered its preferred plateau. Lots of bright cherry, notes of duty earth, and plenty of vivid red and white floral; even a touch of citrus in the first glass, always a welcome touch. Medium-bodied, structured, and classy at times. I liked this a lot, and feel lucky to have caught it in this moment. Drink now or in the next 5-6 years. recommended+

October 17, 2012 - Modern style. He was drunk at a dinner in Italy restaurant in Sao Paulo. Fruity. Full bodied. Balance. Young. Need at least another 5 years.
