March 29, 2013 - More full bodied than the previous bottle; maybe due to the additional time in the cellar. Very rich and jammy with a subtle and pleasant bit of spice.

March 29, 2012 - Medium - full bodied with flavors of dark berry and spice. Easily approachable and very drinkable. Excellent value.

March 7, 2009 - Saturday tasting (HJ): Black color with a youthful purple hue. Blackberries, gauze, oxidized, dried fruit, sweet licorice and a sprinkle of black pepper on the nose. Sweet and jammy black fruit on the attack. Finding better balance and nuances of licorice, cough syrup, pepper and tapenade made from sweet, black olives. Really good intensity and length, but with slightly overwhelming sweetness and the heat on the finish are drawback in the overall evaluation.
