  December 9, 2020 - Drank with stew. Needs some more decanting but still an excellent wine. I smell leather, pepper and berries. Tannins are mellowed out.

  August 4, 2019 - Drank this bottle at 13 years old. Still viable. Still complex. Berries, smoke, wood, leather. Seriously a well balanced offering with tons of cellar year. I estimate it has another 3-5 before it will start to slide down the slippery slope.

  July 6, 2017 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. seems hard to believe that a year has gone by since we last tasted this wine. current notes similar to previous tastings. the wine has continued to mellowed a bit, with some loss of vitality and energy. but the wine still approaches wow status. wish i had loaded up on this one. has everything one would want from a napa cab at this price point and perhaps even a bit higher. true to its name, it is pure cab all the way. generous nose. rich in the mouth. black fruit pervades the nose and the palate. invades the sinuses. long finish. does not fade even after 40 minutes of air. a classic. it appears that they are not producing this bottling any longer. will contact the producer to see what product the grapes from this vineyard are used for now.

  August 26, 2016 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. notes similar to when last tasted nearly two years ago. has mellowed a bit, but the wine still approaches wow status. wish i had loaded up on this one. has everything one would want from a napa cab at this price point and perhaps even a bit higher. true to its name, it is pure cab all the way. generous nose. rich in the mouth. black fruit pervades the nose and the palate. invades the sinuses. long finish. does not fade even after 40 minutes of air. a classic. seems to have the structure to go a little further. will wait a year before trying the last bottle. need to look for more recent vintages.
