July 6, 2016 - Tasting with Gaia Gaja (Gaja Winery in Barbaresco): Opened 2 days before. That's right. A 27 year old chardonnay open for 2 days and served after the reds. Fresh lemony peaches in the nose. Rich, complex, very long. Just a stunning wine. Expansive and compelling. Minerals that go on forever. If you told me this was a great white Burgundy, I'd believe you.

January 18, 2014 - tasted blind, this wine had a medium yellow color with clear rims. The medium intensity nose of lemons, vanilla, and spearmint.

In the mouth, this wine was very ripe and yet also restrained and balanced. It was a bit short at first but developed more length and complexity with time.

This tastes surprisingly young for a non-white Burg from 1989. An impressive wine. I look forward to trying more Gaja chards.
