Community Tasting Notes 1

September 8, 2011 - Bottle, fill and cork all sound. This is actually quite strict for a '97 and took awhile to open at all. I tried this blind and initially thought it might be a barolo in need of a few hours in the decanter. Gradually with time, it gave off some vaguely Chambolle scents, but really was not very expressive. Nothing fat or cooked about it as is the case with so many wines from this vintage. Not sure if it will get better, but this maker is reliable for long-lived wines that take time to come around. Only time will tell, but not much going on at this time.
