April 17, 2020 - At prime drinking. Nose of fig and tar and blackberry pie. Entry is a touch acidic. Blackberry and fig sort of dominate the front here. Adds a touch of sweet plums in the middle. Finishes with a touch of mint and some black pepper but this has a maturity about it which made it go really well by itself, with cheese, and especially Mexican food. I think the top of the drinking window here is probably now through 2022. But I can see this one turning really dark and aging rather well for the. Edt 25 years. The bones are definitely there.

March 28, 2018 - Same as my notes before. Fruit faded, a bit hot. Some you win, some you lose.

January 30, 2018 - Clear deep garnet with rim browning. White pepper, eucalyptus, clove. Medium to low acids, low tannins. Black cherry. Short balanced finish. Bottle at linda blair.

December 17, 2017 - Seemed better when I tasted at the winery. Some of the fruit is faded, but it seems that the secondary flavors are not yet melded. I have another bottle and will hold it for a while as an experiment. Vegetal, spice on the nose. Just slightly out of balance on the palate, with tannin and acid dominating. That said , it held up well to a grilled steak.
