April 12, 2024 - Last minute wine lunch (Gary's): Drank about 1/6th of the bottle over 2 hours. The nose is expressie and it really opened up in the glass. Unfortunately, that caused the wine to also get really funky, almost excessively so. But I love funk, and it mixed well with iron, scorched earth and fine tannins. This is slightly angular.

April 12, 2024 - Wine Lunch (Gary's Place, Hudson, WI): Medium murky red color. Drank a glass plus over 3 hours. I liked this more at the start. As it first opened it had some reduction, plenty of funk, cherry, iron and blood and earthiness. The longer it was in glass, the reduction become more angular and one dimensional, and obscured the pretty cherry fruit and minerality. Medium full bodied, fine tannins, ready to go. 91+ to 92pts.

January 4, 2024 - Nice moderately priced red burg that is squarely in it's drinking window. Of course not in the same league as most Grand Crus (as one would expect given the pedigree and price point), but a reliable daily drinker when paired with food.

March 27, 2021 - Fairly tight for the first hour. Last glass was the best at 3 hour mark.
Drinking very well and open for business. Agreed, the oak treatment is fantastic.

January 30, 2021 - Mute bouquet with mild Brett. Balanced with acid plus. Needs two hours of decanting to come alive. Tertiary flavors. Excellent match with Savoy cheese
