July 27, 2021 - As with my last note on this (5/4/18), this is clearly a refurbished bottle (stocks sold off by the new regime post ‘05). Deep dark fruit, shoe polish, violets, soil inflection, boeuf bourguignon, big and rich structure.

March 11, 2021 - As I understand it, these were stored by the producer and then re-issued a few years ago. I purchased two of these at a local wine importer. Both bottles were cooked. No life............flat.............spoiled vinegar..........sour grapes.

May 4, 2018 - Clearly a reconditioned bottle: An herbal quality to the nose at first; subtle and not very fruit- forward; reticent red fruit slowly emerges; eventually shows good substance but the reconditioning/blending/new bottling shows. Much better the second day.

March 23, 2018 - developing nose of delicate autumnal aromas; fall leaves, onion compote, bonfire smoke, damp humus and game come through instantly. Soft, pliant palate with tea spice and cinnamon. Lovely Volnay. Not as complex as the Clos des Chenes but certainly holds its own.

December 10, 2017 - turns out i had one more of these in my cellar! super fun - opened up in 10 minutes and provided just an ethereal, yummy aged red burgundy for the next 20 minutes. it got thinner as it hit minute 30 but this is just great juice! more wet socks and funk in the earth but then plenty of fruit and acidity
