November 20, 2021 - A beauty! A perfect balance between power and finesse/elegance! Plenty of life left.

February 27, 2021 - Entering its low teens, Valinière shifts gear and leaves most other southern French 07's in the dust. The nose is downright fabulous, with lifted topnotes of lilacs, violets and roses hovering above fresh blue fruits and masses of deeper minerality. As the wine has shed quite a lot of anthocyanins and tannins, the initially more muscular expression has transformed into sleek, fine-tuned elegance. Suddenly, one can imagine the fully mature version another decade ahead. But at this stage, you get it all - bright liveliness as well as matured finesse. This bottle gave us immense joy and drinking pleasure in the company with grilled lambchops.

February 16, 2019 - Started a little stewed but after 20mn really opened up and showed its true character. There’s always a Burgundian side to this cuvée but this vintage showed riper and darker than usual. Still absolutely delicious and complex. Loved it. Drink now.

September 2, 2017 - The '07 Valinière is totally singing at the moment, or rather feedbacking like Neil Young's Les Paul on Weld '91. Crazy energy and intensity, great freshness, no heat, everything in balance, long future ahead.

91 pts
