  April 16, 2018 - In my quest to purge my cellar of wines that I’ve kept well past their recommended “drink by” dates, I’ve had several great surprises. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. This wine was drinkable, but unremarkable. First off, good luck getting the cork out without the help of an Ah-So cork extractor. Even with that, I still had to strain small cork particles out of the wine as I poured it. The wine still had a fairly inky look to it, but not cloudy. On the nose, there was little to no fruit left. There was a hint of tar and a slightly stewed plum note. On the palate, there was a bright sour cherry note but it became shrouded by a dusty earthiness. Surprisingly, there were still a fair amount of tannins, but the finish was short and incomplete. It held up as an evening sipper, but would not stand up to even the lightest of food as a pairing. This one is on me. It might have been a very good wine in its time.

  April 4, 2015 - Drank with a steak dinner and liked it. The fruit was pretty much gone.

  July 13, 2013 - Bottle 2 of 2 - went way downhill since last tasting in 2006. Way past prime, although still great for a homemade salad dressing.
