February 14, 2024 - Drinking fabulously, classic California style cabernet. Has at least two years left. Decanted 1 hour before drinking. Good tannin backbone, integrated well with the fruit. Blue fruit, cedar box, earthiness. Around hour 4 or 5 the fruit fell off a bit. Still enjoyable, but tannins and oak became a little more pronounced after a good long while. Saw comment that fruit turned more red after a while, think that's a good observation.

February 7, 2024 - A little sappier than the last bottle, but came around after an hour or so. Should've drunk with a steak.

November 14, 2023 - This bottle is drinking very well right now, though it may smooth out a bit over the next 5 years or so. I see no reason to hold - get a decent steak and drink up!

Darker fruited (black cherry, black raspberry, tart cherry) gave way to more red fruits (cherry) after a couple of hours. Strong supporting notes (leather, earth, cacao).

November 7, 2023 - Wonderfully aged and hitting on all cylinders. Several years of life remaining

October 6, 2023 - Guys Dinner - Joe/David/Jim D/Bill/Harry (Casa Vasquez - Princeton NJ): Generous contribution from David. Magnum purchased and in his cellar from our visit there 10 years ago. Decanted for about 45 minutes. Drank with steaks/veggies from the grill. First wine with dinner.

Deep red/garnet color. Nose showing black cherry, tobacco. Palate of red fruits, blueberry. Nice texture, earth notes and leather on the mid palate. Medium body and finish.

Still pretty youthful, magnum format may have slowed aging vs other tasters experience. Tannins still present, starting to resolve. kept a glass to the side, tasting over the course of the evening. Evolved and improved over the time. Good, not great on this showing. Won't improve much from here (IMO) but should drink at this level for a while.
