April 7, 2024 - Consistent with my last tasting note. Winner for what it is.

April 15, 2023 - Decanted and drank immediately - some sediment in the bottle. Light garnet color in the glass. Mature aromas of roobois, tea leaves and sour cherry. The palate is savory, with flavors of olive, sandalwood, cherry and fig. Acidity is medium, and tannins are very light and fully integrated. Finishes at medium-plus length. Although the tannins have faded, the wine is still mostly balanced with decent fruit and acidity. Definitely best to drink up in the near future.

September 30, 2022 - Supposedly x-domain 2022. Alive and kicking. Really nice nose. The exuberance of the new world extraction has mellowed. Lot's of secondary flavours and sous bois but a bit short. Probably will last a few more years but really no reason to wait as it is in a great place now. Good but not great.

November 21, 2020 - Stunning wine. Fully integrated. No signs of significant aging, but unlikely to develop further. Deep rich layer of red fruits complemented a pork roast. Cherry most predominant in the nose and mouth, but a panoply of flavors make this an excellent wine. Tannins are fully integrated at this point. I opened this one 20 minutes before dinner, I think more time would have developed additional nuances. Wish I had more of these!

July 7, 2015 - Took this to dinner at Burgundy Guy's house to accompany roast pork. Whatever tannins it had had (I'd never tasted it before) were by now subsumed within (into?) a thick, dark blast of fruit that spread over the tongue and then lazily drifted down the throat (and, I suppose, up into the sinuses). It was decidedly NOT like a French wine, but the BG's wife kept going back to it until it was gone. He, by the way, had picked a Barbaresco (1995, but I neglected to record whose) to go with the pork. It would have done so better (by comparison) if this Calera had not been on the table.
