December 27, 2012 - I drank one of these a number of years ago and thought it needed more time. broke into this and gave it about an hour in the bottle to decant and this was excellent. came together very nicely but very hot wine (nearly 15%). Nose is big cooked strawberry, cinnamon, cardamom and clove. definitely heat comes right off the nose and overwhelms the fruit a little. Palate confirms cooked strawberry and develops into nice plum with very soft and gentle palate weight and black pepper spicy. Good juxtaposition. Nicely structured with big biting and drying tannins. Probably should have given this a little more time to decant properly and probably would have continues to develop into darker and richer extracted red fruit berries. Would rate higher but alcohol does overwhelm a little.

November 29, 2011 - Nice wine. Good nose and initial taste then it seems to fall apart a little at the finish.
