May 8, 2023 - Pretty dried out by now but still nice with grilled sweet potatoes and steak tips. The label says to drink this within 5-7 years which is 2013 at the latest. Today in 2023, still hanging in there. Most of the recent notes here summarize pretty well. Decent showing and value at this point from not a great year. Drink up.

January 14, 2023 - Cellar orphan. Way past its prime but pleasant enough after decanting. Need to rescue its orphaned siblings and drink them right away

February 3, 2018 - Way past it's prime... Glad this was our last bottle. Another Garagiste disappointment.

November 20, 2017 - Pulled to use for cooking, and poured a glass. Nose is rather inviting, on the palate, some minerality and tertiary flavors, but very drying on the finish. This bottle's best days are well past.

February 22, 2017 - End of the line!! Was careful during decant to keep the majority of sediment in the bottle. Almost void of any kind of fruit on the nose, but hints of blackberry and blueberry across the palate. Paired with grilled salmon and asparagus which helped pull some character from the wine. By itself it was tolerable, and looking back, I paid $12 for it 10 years ago. Trimming the cellar fat.

(Bealieu Comtes de Tastes) Bordeaux Bargains Dear Friends, A few terrific bargains were just confirmed - it always helps to be on the spot in France and today was one of those days. Both have perfect provenance, have never sat on a store shelf and should be offered at some of the lowest prices in the world. The 2003 Comtes de Tastes has been one of the more popular Bordeaux we’ve sold in the past. For an everyday wine of this quality, you can’t beat the price and quality in the bottle. It is the ultimate connoisseurs party wine. (it was actually upgraded several points by Parker in the bottle over the barrel review and it’s obvious why) - one of the very best steals of a very expensive vintage. The d’Aiguilhe is another terrific bargain from an expensive year and its Cabernet Franc component (like the Comtes de Tastes) stands out with aplomb. I’ve enjoyed this wine on numerous occasions and it wouldn’t surprise me to see many compare it to a baby Tertre Roteboeuf - well worth the experiment with cellar space, especially at this price: 2003 Beaulieu Comtes De Tastes (Superiore) (WS/NR) LIMITED 12/person 2003 Chateau d’Aiguilhe (Cotes de Castillon) LIMITED 6/person Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Bord8850 Bord8860

(COMTES DE TASTES Beaulieu) Bordeaux SPECIAL Dear Friends, I had this wine last night (for the 4th-5th time since release) and it’s now ready to fly the coup, out into the world to prove itself. I knew this wine had potential from barrel and especially on its initial release in bottle but when Parker rated it 89pts - I knew there was an opportunity. An opportunity to pass on grand savings to everyone by purchasing everything I could find at rock bottom prices, sit on it, and then offer the parcel a few years later perfectly cellared for everyone to appreciate - today’s the day. I have a feeling this offer will be very popular... I’ve been saving this for the right time as the wine needed the additional year or two in bottle to find itself and it seemed appropriate as we near the release of the 2006 First Growth prices to release something this good at this price - this parcel is now ready to enjoy without hesitation any night of the week. With Bordeaux prices at the highest level in history, this wine proves that highly rated and excellent wine from the 2003 vintage can still be had for a moderate price (Parker liked this wine so much in bottle, he actually upgraded his score from the barrel rating). In addition, this wine has a firmer tannic structure than would be imagined at this price level and the extra year in bottle has allowed it to keep improving - it wouldn’t surprise me if many of you found the wine to be even better than the reviews (which are about as good as can be found for a wine at this price in 2003). For an everyday, cerebral and interesting bottle of Bordeaux this is an offer to take full advantage of as the Cabernet Franc component (nearly 30%) continues to emerge and offer the type of intrigue usually found in an expensive Bordeaux: Many of you have asked since the first of the year for appropriate high-end event or wedding wine for the summer - here you go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for outstanding value and surprising complexity at this price level: 2003 Beaulieu Comtes de Tastes (Bordeaux) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Bord8950
