Community Tasting Notes 5

February 29, 2024 - Pierre Morey/Fourrier Dinner at La Paulée de Los Angeles (Bicyclette, Los Angeles): Deep yellow. Laid back but fresh aromas without any nuttiness. Even rounder attack than the 2010 with some wood, downplayed fruit, subtle creaminess, and an estery note. Terrific acidic core and a dusty, lemony finish. Not quite as spherical and harmonious as the 2010 with slight harshness on the finish, but this is excellent at the least. Loved these first 2 wines.

June 7, 2021 - Exactly what this vineyard should taste like. Massive tension. Complexities reaching into garlic and the rest of the allium family. Intense imaginary cheese. Every different temperature and sip is a new experience. Props to the peeps still putting in the work for this vineyard. Insane. And surprisingly balanced. Could not nail down off the palette any particular winemaking technique. Perfect balance.

September 18, 2020 - Served blind. Packed minerals, sunshine, white flowers, medium ripeness, good balance and focused finish. Initially did not think Perrieres but the warn fruit catches up. I was deciding on maybe 07 or 04 because I haven't tasted 08 in a while, but glad to see it is showing beautifully, especially the mineral-ful structures. 92

August 21, 2020 - Totally cooked. Brown colour, aldehyde, gone. Waste.

August 25, 2018 - Nice follow-up to the Champagnes. Not as Meursault as I expected, especially given the vintage. Very stylish oak on the nose, with loads of bright citrus and a touch of floral. On the palate, great acidity, and loads of white flowers. Less clear minerality and smokiness, but still yummy. Paired perfectly with the scallops in a mushroom broth.
