Community Tasting Notes 10

January 13, 2017 - Have never understood the wines from Sauzet - anonymous and never coming close to the praise a lot of people give them. Don't know if this was a lucka shot of if everything from the domaine ages this gracefully, because this was simply amazing for beeing a bourgogne blanc. Lovely mature yellow fruit with a elegant mineral backbone and freshness from the acidity. Wonderful bottle and a great reminder why not all bottles should be opened young.

January 31, 2016 - Nice basic Bourgogne Blanc. Oak and citrus notes. Short to medium length on the palate. Good value for money.

December 27, 2015 - Very high QPR. Strong entry level whit burg. Notice the wood but not overpowering. Nice citrus and mineral notes. Simple, but very good. Would buy again.

November 24, 2013 - This is tasting better than my last note back in Dec 2011. Opened last night, enjoyed with sea bass tacos. Now, the oak/pie crust that I had mentioned last time is pretty well integrated, with the yellow apple and hint of green banana and lemon still here. Some nice slate flows through the finish, and a little astringence, too. I paid $20 for these, and looking back to that time, I wish I had bought more. This is my last Sauzet, as while I recently sold off all my other Sauzet1ers, I remain fond of this producer as it was one of the key labels that helped me journey into Burgundy's wines. This is drinking super now and so if you have any pox concerns, why not avoid that thought, open and enjoy now.

April 4, 2013 - White burgundy on the nose. Anything with this much citrus and acid certainly drinks better at a higher temperature. A very simple wine that has gain nothing with age.
