December 31, 2023 - Gorgeous aromas of stem spice, toasted herbs and red fruit. Palate follows suit and is in an absolute peak. Long, stem-spice filled finish.

March 29, 2023 - Darkish red fruit, tea, stems, wild flowers, clove and spice. Palate is resolved and expressive with charming sweetness. The 08 Chambolle Les Gruenchers is wide open now. This is more 07 Dujac than 08 to me when its served in blind.

October 15, 2022 - An explosive and seductive nose of black cherry, spice, black tea and whole cluster. Medium weight fruit is nuanced with spice, earth and stem spice. Silky ferrous tannins. At peak and should hold for a decade+ at this level.

December 19, 2021 - Singing with stem spice, red fruit and emerging earth/iron notes. Terrific balance of fruit and structure and in a peak drinking window

March 4, 2021 - Chambolle Northside 1er (Zoom / Chicago): 06/07/08 flight. A wow nose with intense aromas of spice and stem-filled red cherry. This is just singing on the palate with a killer vibrance that adds harmony/intensity to the complex range of flavors and adds length/energy to the wine. Perfectly poised. Long, pristine finish. Terrific.

March 4, 2021 - Chambolle-Musigny "Northside" 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): In Gruenchers flights. Complete and layered red frit from start-to-finish, with still pronounced tannins. Lots here throughout, with very good length. Dense and powerful, this is certainly the most sophisticated wine of the flight, even if I slightly enjoyed the 2006 more. Clearly upside from here.

February 14, 2021 - Medium-weight, quite elegant, with dark plum fruit, but this wine is in somewhat of a shut-down state right now, lacking the delineation that I expect will show when it is fully open. This points out a difference between the wines under Jeremy Seysses and those of his dad -- under Jacques, the wines were always open and ready to drink. Cellared since original release.

March 5, 2020 - La Paulée Zachy's Auction - Thursday (Le Bernardin Privé): 07/08 side by side. The 08 simply singing right now. The nose is lifted, bright and layered -- red cherry, stem, spice and earth all working together. The palate is juicy and delineated with a long, attractive finish.
