March 1, 2023 - Nuits-Saint-Georges and Riesling - Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Medium expressive nose displaying subtle slightly dry black fruit, blackberry, plum, strong sous bois, raw button mushroom, cinnamon and earth. Medium concentration, subtle black fruit, cool, slightly unripe and lean, strong acidity, earthy mineral, coarse tannins and a medium long subtle black fruit driven finish with noticeable bitterness at the end. The midpalate is hollow and the overall expression is masculine and angular. I prefer the nose to the palate.

October 27, 2022 - WTDS at All Saints (All Saints, Mpls, MN): Medium plus dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. This was one of the infamous '08 Cheviillon's stolen for a song back in the day. Dang, its actually been 10 years since I've had this. This was filled with sous bois to start, pretty high toned at that, somewhat vegetal as well. It opened further to show more typical spice notes and some floral tones while the sous bois fell more into place. The palate had all the same qualities, needing to shake it off a bit at first. Black cherry, black tea, baked plum, blackberry, medium-full bodied, some wood shows, black pepper, mineral and firmish tannins.

October 12, 2021 - Charming early showing of this. A bit 08 in profile but I think better than expected. Needs some time still.
