  April 19, 2023 - Jura study (Chicago, IL): A huge step up from the other two bottles of poulsard. Intense and sappy with a beautiful mix of red and black shot fruit. Juicy on the palate, but at the same time carrying lots of weight and a firm tannic backbone. Feels like this has the gas for more age. Among the best bottles of Overnoy I've had.

  September 20, 2014 - For SFJoe (Josefa & Mark's House - Chicago, IL): Overnoy's red have been somewhat of a hit-or-miss for me. At times they can be a bit too veggie/acidic for me, but this was in a great place. The fruit was rustic and ripe with dark cranberry, cherry and soil notes. The palate was thin and packed a big punch of floral and fruity tones with sizzling acidity and cut. There are probably people that would not like the body of this wine (too thin), but gosh, it really struck a chord with me. Great showing.

  September 14, 2013 - A special treat, and yet, now that I have more context for this wine, this is less thrilling to me than any other vintage I've had, except for 09. The wine is lovely, expressive, and delicious, but fleshier, and the character of the fruit is sweet and it dominates the other aspects of the wine. One of the things that thrills me about this wine in most vintages is the uncanny and impossible harmony of so many complex aromas and flavors. That was not a part of drinking the 05 on this night.

  July 5, 2011 - in a lovely place, although certainly will keep improving. not sure that i've had a silkier and less rustic poulsard, and this is without sacrificing any of the foresty flavors. this is absolutely lovely wine, with beautiful red fruit, savory and almost saline flavors, cooling tones in the nasal cavity, and a long and complex midpalate. was still growing two hours in as we finished it.
