Community Tasting Notes 4

September 22, 2015 - Burnt baguette, green peas and oak barrel on the nose. Oak is still noticeable. Not very precise taste, there's small yellow plum, a little poignant, chalk, not that much stuffing. Very good, but frankly I expected more.

June 16, 2012 - Similar to last bottle but no mustiness. Very good nose but fruit has faded in mid palate but follows through. Drink up

April 22, 2012 - Good color. Slightly musty nose that never fully blew off. Mineral and citrus flavors but soft in the middle. Probably past its best.

May 2, 2005 - Brass in color with expressive aromatics, this wine is beginning to enter its drinking window but doesn't seem happy about it. At first it smells like popcorn and gradually opens up over the first glass to reveal scents of gravel and gunpowder. And for a little while it really does taste like a mouthful of rocks with a granular texture as aggressive as tannin in a young red -- a wine seemingly carved directly out of subterranean Chablis. But after about two hours, primary fruit resurfaces, and it tastes like a young Chablis again, with tart, lemony flavors that make big sips a chore. Jekyll and Hyde.
