December 10, 2010 - Colour: straw yellow; clear; pale
    Aroma intensity: low
    Development: youthful
    Aromas: fresh, slightly sweet/sugary
Flavour description: bone dry; very light-light body; crisp-lively acidity
    Flavour intensity: moderate-flavourful
    Flavours: apple, pear, melon, grass
Very pleasant. Very light; slightly bitter/sour. An alternative to a young New Zealand Sauvingnon Blanc for drinking and food pairings.

March 11, 2010 - Label: Georgia is the world's true birthplace of wine, with a history of production that dates back over 7,000 years. Katsiteli is the most recognized indigenous white wine variety, known for creating chateau whites of wonderful fruit and acid balance. When sourced from selected grapes of the finest micro-region and blended with another variety, Mtsvane, this wine can also be called Tsinandali and is the pride of the country.

At Mildiani Family Winery in the famed Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, we are well known for our award winning Tsinandali. It has a fragrant fruit bouquet, and a fresh yet refined tasted that is in perfect harmony with a delicately acidic finish. Delicious and refreshing on its own, but also ideal with lighter meals, fruit and cheese.

Review: This is my first wine I have tried from the Republic of Georgia. It's a blend of 80% Katsiteli and 20% Mtsvane. Katsiteli is also known as Rkatsiteli which is a white grape varietal that dates back as far as 3000 BC. Mtsvane is another white varietal that is often blended in to add a fruity, aromatic balance. First time I have tried those varietals very interesting grapes. This 2006 White Wine comes from the Mildiani Family Winery. It has 13.8% Alcohol and a pale gold color. I get aromas of Peach and Pear, subtle Lemon and Honey with hints of Cut Green Grass and Pea Gravel. The nose on this wine is very pleasant, it's pretty clean. I really like the bouquet on it. On the palate you get Minerality, Lemon, Lime and Bay Leaves, very subtle pear. There is something slightly off in this wine, tastes like Bitter Melon. Very tart and sour on the mid-palate, medium finish.
