July 15, 2023 - Millésime froid pour une cuvée dans un style cistercien. J'aurais apprécié un peu plus d'ampleur et plus de magie pour ce Mazis.
Ouvrir la prochaine dans 10 ans.

July 10, 2022 - Beautiful! Tannins are resolved. Lovely aromatics, sappy red fruits, sandalwood, balsam.

May 15, 2022 - F4 closing-in on EVH. Beautiful nose of mineral, blood, meat, floral, cloves and red fruit. Cloves swirl through the sinuses and palate. Pepper also evolves on palate. A rustic finish, which I love. Drank with a Ponsot Griotte 2007 and the Faiveley was slightly superior in every respect; most importantly it tastes like a burgundy of old: Less reduction but more complexity.

October 30, 2020 - I have purchased and drank a significant number of 2008 Burgundy wines, many grand crus. In almost every case, I view this vintage as a lean, classical vintage. Best for lovers of classical Burgundy. I once had a conversation with Laurent Drouhin about this vintage and we agreed that it was pure, classical, and one to age. This particular wine differed from all previous 2008 wines. Nose of tobacco, wet leaves, some barnyard, and sweet red cherries. The wine is medium bodied, delicious with sweet, ripe flavors of cherry, with secondary spicy development, with tart, balanced acidity. This is a near perfect wine. I served this with some white truffle pasta. Sometimes you just hit the perfect food-wine pairing. This was one of those pairings. If you have one of these wines, you should try it. Faiveley is a master, and this wine is as good as a wine of this price point could possibly be. It's also the first 2008 I would describe as ripe. What a beauty!

April 29, 2016 - Nose of earth; had this element of wildness too. Red-fruited on the palate, with good intensity as well as freshness/acidity. Will be even better with more bottle age.
