Community Tasting Notes 4

  • Cote d'Or Likes this wine:

    April 28, 2022 - Tasted over 2 hrs
    -nearly semi-translucent mild bricking
-expressive Gevrey soil/spice sweet earthy red fruit meaty savory black pepper
-med acidity, med- weight meaty sweet/savory earthy red fruit, med ripe tannins and some sweet earthy fruit and faint oak on the moderately long finish
-not quite as soulful as many prior vintages but this is more Maume-like than most of the domaine's other '08s I've tasted thus far, coming into its own now with many more good drinking years ahead of it

June 18, 2021 - Loads of sour cherry fruit, good acidity, cloves and spice turning to forest floor, but still plenty of time left. Tip top.

    September 6, 2014 - PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs
-med red with slight clearing/brown on edge
-typical Gevrey earth with sour cherry, hint of oak, tough of Burg funk
-higher acidity, med weight and concentration, sour cherry and earth, OK length, med+ tannins, really blossoms after 3 hrs
-excellent, still highly structured, needs several years to open up, a bit less rustic than is sometimes seen for Pallud

April 24, 2012 - austere but good Gevrey notes, bitter on the palate which will evolve nicely.
