July 6, 2011 - Cinnamon spiced dark cherries. Angular a bit austere. Tight and strong wines. Time might help?

May 18, 2011 - Heavy nose, some metals/iron/blood and spice. Red fruits mascular and heavy. Cold and not welcoming.

May 18, 2011 - Burgundy 2011 Day 3: Visit to Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot (Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy): I have always really liked the Lavaux vineyard, so I was rather disappointed to find this wine decently good, but not much more than that. Nose was nice - baking spice scents, with cinamon and cloves at the fore, were liberally sprinkled over sweet red fruit aromas along with the cool earth and stone notes that are so typical of wines from the Combe de Lavaux. Palate was a bit of a mix. It seemed quite elegant at first, with a bit more finesse than the other wines on the attack, which showed nice flavours of dark cherries, red berries and more of that stony, earthy tones picked up on the nose. It got really tight past that though, coiled up in a hard, slightly rustic back-palate where the fruit retreated behind a ring of woody tannins and white peppery spice. I hope this will improve with age, right now it is just a bit on the hard, rustic side with all that wood. Decently good, but it needs some development.
