November 1, 2021 - A brilliant showing, this is spice and stems. A much more indicative example than a month or so ago. Booming nose, highly floral, unapologetically spicy. Palate is robust but approachable much in the way I am finding ‘00 DRC this trip. Not as showy as the ‘00 La Tâches this week but still very expressive and excellent.

September 16, 2021 - [Blind] Dark, powerful, muscular, concentrated, extracted. Initially no indication of DRC, no stems, not floral. More soy and dark spice. A little overbearing. Robust red fruit, higher alcohol. I think this needed more time and a slightly cooler temperature. Difficult read today.

September 6, 2021 - Wine is in a great spot - well resolved meaty and savory yet due to the vintage the texture is quite soft and pleasurable. Fruit is well kept and integrated with the secondary savory notes. No time like the present on drinking these but they'll keep at the state for some time based on the outer edges of tannin that appear here and there on the wine.

July 7, 2021 - Just the same as my last note; dazzling, classic, pure Richebourg

July 25, 2020 - Smooth purple fruit and emerging spice bouquet. Continues to perform well for the vintage. 93+

(Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg) Cloudy, bricking light medium raspberry red color with clear meniscus; intriguing tart red fruit and tobacco nose; tart red fruit, tobacco and mineral palate with depth, needs 5 plus years; medium-plus finish

Burgundy-Report

(Romanée-Conti Richebourg) Colour is perhaps, not so dense as the Romanée Saint-Vivant, but a similar shade of cherry. Beguiling and persistent, the deep red and black cherry nose shows just a little kirsch at the top end. There’s good acidity, and forward, though controlled tannins. There’s also a richness to match the volume you experience in the mouth, but somehow on tasting, this wine seems less involving than the others; gorgeous aromatics though.

Rockss and Fruit

(DRC Richebourg) Powerful aromatics. Raspberries, exotic asian spices, minerals, clove, blackberries. Very deep and layered nose. So dense in the mouth with powerful extract and intense flavors of red and black fruit skins. Beautiful balancing acids. A hint of tar lingers on the finish. Incredible clinging length.
