Community Tasting Notes 6

May 4, 2023 - Red Mountain AVA. Blackberry, plum jam, red cherry, dried cherry, aged wood, earth, and some herbs on the nose. Sweet plums, red cherries, earth, some herbs, and a hint of wood on the palate. Decent acidity, lightly grippy tannins, medium finish. Overall, this was very nice, now showing tertiary notes, though I'm surprised that the oak is still noticeable. It must have been quite something 15 years ago.

    March 20, 2011 - Notes from day 2.
Dark red to purple in color.
Nose of black plum, a little vanilla, spice.
Palate of black raspberry, plum, a little mushroom, cedar, spice and chocolate showing on the tail.
The finish was average in lenght and there was a good medium bodied feel to the wine.
Overall the wine a good bottle of merlot without any of the bitterness that can be noted from the varietal and very good acidity that keeps the rest of the wine in check. Really good complexity too for how young the wine is.
    Hold. 50+5+11+17+8

October 28, 2010 - Pacific Northwest Tasting Trip (Red Mountain/Walla Walla Day 1): Dark purple in color.
Nose of black plums, some spice.
Palate of black cherry, plum, mushroom, flint, cured meat.
    Good finish and mouthfeel.

    Hold. 89-90.

May 22, 2010 - The inaugural release of this wine for Fidelitas, a red blend all from Red Mountain grapes. On the nose – vanilla, cherry coke, pepper, floral, cherry yogurt, and grapefruit. Tart cherry, plum, and cedar explode off the palate.
