January 9, 2020 - From a split. A touch muddled, and probably in decline. Otherwise, a lovely drop. Pleasantly chewy.

May 11, 2018 - Very smooth and balanced. Great nose of dark fruit and floral undertones. Mellow tannins. Drinking strong at the age.

November 22, 2013 - I'd grade this down just a little from the last time. We had it with some grilled filet mignon and it was quite good, but seemed a little flatter and less complex than before. It's absolutely classic, restrained California cab, warm sunshine and a cool breeze through your hair, nimble currants, cassis, mint, a little tobacco and leather, but it's either shutting down again or just hit its peak a few months back. Still, I wish I had bought more and drunk them once a month.

June 8, 2013 - This is in the perfect window. Red and purple fruit. The tannins are approachable and the finish is 15-25 seconds in length. The acidity is balanced and the cab is nicely balanced. This is pretty great for the price and hitting its stride.

March 24, 2013 - Could give it a 91, but I'm stingy. Nonetheless, a classic Cab that took me back to my youth of tasting our family friend's great bottles of old BV and Mondavi. This isn't blockbuster, but that's the charm: It goes with that amazing grilled steak instead of overwhelming everything in its path. Drinks great on its own. Definitely black currants, developing nice secondary notes, and getting some leather after it's been open a while. The nose was a bit closed at first, but came out with some swirling. I suspect it's got several more years of positive development, and I wish I had more than one left. At $25 on sale, a steal. One of the highlights of the year for me, thus far.
