April 14, 2023 - St. Emilion night (Chicago, IL): Again I think others appreciated this more than I did. There's a very small hint of volatility on the nose here, but like the 1966 Cheval Blanc, this is a wine with lots more red fruit than black (and again there is also some drying to the fruit). Overall, this has a bit of a thinning palate presence, which would make me think that this should be drank sooner than later.

October 29, 2021 - Elegant wine that gave us a lot a pleasure, smokey nose and still in great shape for it's age. We got lucky to experience such a great wine.

July 12, 2018 - Not a lot of concentration, but there are a lot of positives. Aromas of cigar box and soil with a slightly minty freshness that is a sign to me of its quality as old bones. Has some feminine persistence and distinction of character. Just perhaps not one for the table.

September 23, 2016 - Right Bank Premier Grand Cru Classe "A" Bordeaux tasting (Karl's house): Excellent color considering the vintage, as it's still a dark ruby. Plum, red currant, old library book, mushroom, leather, and anise. Light-medium bodied. A bit subdued on the attack. Tannins have essentially resolved. Medium length finish with average acidity. Not terribly interesting or memorable.

September 12, 2015 - Very dark colour in the carafe where the wine has rested for 2 hours, the liquid wakes up when we swirl it in our glasses. Dark cherries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries surge from a wet forest soil where leaves, mushrooms, wood, mousse and wild game have soaked their scents. A unique experience for your mouth.
