Community Tasting Notes 4

October 31, 2015 - This has been my go to sparkler lately. Love the baker's yeast notes that have developed with age.

October 11, 2015 - Second bottle of this, really nice for the price. I was a bit worried though, as the fill line seemed a little low on this bottle (as well as a couple more in the cellar). Was even more concerned when the cork broke in half as I tried to open it.
Bottom half of cork was saturated. Used a corkscrew to extract it and it still gave a decent "pop", which was a good sign. Turns out the wine was fine (but I will still be drinking my other bottles sooner than later). Nice dry Rosé of Malbec with notes of black cherry, plum and light oak. Although the bubbles are sparse as others have mentioned, the mouthfeel is still frothy, the wine dances on the tongue and finishes with medium+ length. It's also a big crowd pleaser, gone in a flash!

June 14, 2011 - Intense strawberry red color with intermittent stream of tiny bubbles; the relatively sparse bubbles brought to mind Spanish Cavas. On the nose, baked bread and ripe cherry aromas. On the palate, fruity, yet pleasingly more dry, than off-dry with an explosive, creamy mousse, and with delicate almost imperceptible tannins, with flavors of cherries, raspberries, and a hint of spice. Medium finish. Altogether, very good! It paired very nicely with a variety of tapas

November 22, 2010 - Unlike any other sparkler I've had, this is dark in color--like watered-down pomegranate juice. Think the color of Lambrusco (good stuff) and you'll be there. Flavors are reminiscent of dry Lambrusco, too: quite fruity, lots of raspberry and a hint of deeper plum as well. Dry finish. Would be great with spicy food, for brunch with chilaquiles or Huevos, or for a seasonally appropriate cranberry-colored sparkler for holiday toasts.
