January 1, 2024 - Très différente de la précédente bouteille. Fermé à l’ouverture et de façon durable, plus sur la rafle sue sur le fruity. Non decanté mais ouvert 6h avant… honnêtement : décevant au cours du repas au point qu’il en est resté 1/3 de bouteille… somptueusement ouvert le lendemain au déjeuner. Ça nous rapproche de certains climats « longs à la détente » notamment sur Vosne… la typicité ici est cependant bien conforme à Gevrey. Une grande bouteille qui mérite encore d’attendre. Beaucoup…

November 20, 2023 - Dark purple-ruby with slight cloudiness; fragrant nose of blackberry, blueberry, small forest berries; forest floor, pot-pouri, perfume, pine, pie crust--super aromatic, flavorful; silky entry, med rich and expansive with excellent tanginess, tartness, soft resolving tannins but still very vibrant. Quite a long finish, with primary fruits still very present but seems like it's on the verge of developing tertiaries and another stage of its life. fantastic stuff, especially for '08. with pasta carbonara at home

June 7, 2023 - Nick's 2008 Burgundy - Noize (Noizé, London): Rich dark fruit, soil, mocha notes, some herb too. Sesame seed. Medium/full dark fruited, oak spice, has freshness but still a touch firm on teh good length finish. In need of a few more years for me, but potentially excellent.

June 7, 2023 - 2008 red Burgs (Noize): Energetic and beautifully ripe on the nose, with plenty of fairly primary fruit as well as some more mature gamey notes. Dark, savoury and saline on the palate, but in a lean register (especially for a Mortet), and then a lovely long finish.

May 16, 2021 - Very good. Savoury, bacon on the nose. Quite strongly coloured in the glass. Mouth has bacon, intense red berries, well integrated medium oak, very polished tannins, fairly strong acid balanced by some sweetness, with a hint of perfume floating above it all. Improved the more air it gets, still gaining after 8 hours. Quite powerful.
