May 1, 2018 - Tannins much more structured than the 2004. Open right at the start. Vanilla, dark fruit, some charcoal. A better structured wine with a better finish than the 2004 (perhaps just a better vintage overall).

February 13, 2018 - Very sad I've only one to drink. Fruit is still bright and the tannins have room to unwind. I'd hold a few more years as it may improve a bit more

August 12, 2016 - Just so-so and a bit too tannic still for a 10 year old bottle. Flavor characters was muted

January 25, 2015 - chocolate, black fruit, mega-umami. hauntingly beautiful after decanting for 2 hrs. could use another case of this stuff. best enjoyed while donning yoga pants, catching up with one of your besties about your crazy lives. we paired it with house-made sausages from our local market, deeply caramelized onions, peppers, zucchini, chives, laura chenel goat cheese, srsly (gf) sourdough bread, toasted. sides: pickles, jalapeƱos, tomatoes, whole grain mustard, garlic-stuffed olives. truffles ala mode for dessert.

August 9, 2014 - Decanted 3 hours before pairing with first boiled and then broiled pork spareribs with smoky mesquite sauce. A purple robe with thinning edges, this Sonoma cabernet had a nose of dark cherry, raspberry, cassis and blackberry. Well-balanced on the palate, sporting a touch of cedar, this wine has very good intensity and concentration. Avoids jammyness, this was a very good match for this meal.
