Community Tasting Notes 12

November 6, 2011 - No such thing as good vintages, just good bottles. First one was old and over the hill, second one was delicious with rich red fruit and a smooth fully resolved mouth feel. Was expecting the worst and was surprised to find a real nice bottle of Santa Cruz Pinot much better than the last two.

April 2, 2011 - Very nice. Can't see too much upside, so drink up.

October 5, 2010 - Quick impression. PnP. Nice cherry and mushroom nose. Mimicked on the palate. Everything is in balance and this wine is drinking as well as I hoped for. This is one of those bottles that I can say I don't really seeing it improving because of how seamless it drank. Though, from other's notes, there appears to be some bottle variation.

February 21, 2010 - Brown tinge, bit of reduction when I pulled the cork. A little on the tart side, with alcohol clearly showing through. I'll bet this was fantastic young; it feels like it's falling apart now. I've got the opp to buy another one at $35 and I'm going to pass.

October 12, 2009 - totally different wine. Hot, alcoholic, oaky. bizarre. but I don't think flawed? not sure what to do with my other- if anything this tasted younger, not aged.
