September 23, 2020 - Chambolle & Gevrey BYO (Grand Hyatt Hong Kong): 02291. Strong woody notes, not sure if slightly corked or just old. Good vintage body otherwise. 90?

September 3, 2018 - Definitely past its best. Four years ago, this was lovely, a real star for a village wine. But now, it's quite pedestrian, lacking the fruit and pzazz it used to have, really quite matt and dull-ish. Drink up! Must try the 1er Cru soon, and the Grand Vin not too much longer afterwards.

May 23, 2016 - This was a revelation. This is according to experts past its peak. The villages bottling. But full of fruit and chambolle character. Could easily age a few more years but if you -are lucky enough to own this, drink it. It is phenomenal. I paid $50 for this 7-8 years ago. Wish I had bought more.

November 29, 2014 - Bright and crisp red fruit on the nose, a bit more masculine than feminine Chambolle. Good fruit in the mouth with a solid dose of oak and significant structure. This wine will continue to get better with time for my palate. I'll wait a few years to open another bottle.

September 21, 2014 - Absolutely lovely village wine, now fully ready. Augurs really well for the Musigny GC in 10 years time. Took a bottle to the Fox & Hounds, Carthorpe for our last lunch before start of annual abstinence in Bermuda tomorrow. Colour deep but not intense, some watering at rim. Gorgeous perfume, lovely flavours, now sweet & soft, but still with that steely edge, and really quite long. Very sippable before food, and with it. A cracking memory to keep the flame burning over the next few weeks.

Burgundy-Report

(Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny) Medium cherry-red, fades to salmon pink at the edge. The nose shows powdery, pure red fruit. The palate gives a very fresh expression, medium length but quite lacy and très elegant. The fine tannins give a little bite on the finish but this is a lovely, pure and elegant rather than powerful example of Chambolle.
