August 19, 2016 - Still a lot of tannins, could easily last for another 10 years

November 20, 2013 - A very curious wine. This is my 2nd bottle from this vintage and both have resembled aged new world cabernets to an extraordinary degree. I defy anyone to identify this as a madiran in a blind tasting! A hint of licorice, but predominantly blackcurrant (I strongly disagree with other reviewers on this - this is a very fruit-forward wine, even at 16yo). Quite acidic and a little out of balance. I have no idea what it may do in the future - it may continue to develop or simply fade away. I don't have the expertise to judge, and can't even quite make up my mind whether I like it or not in its present state. A very strange beast altogether.

November 8, 2011 - On its way back. Fruit is vanishing and wood remains. Tannins seem to be gone.
