Community Tasting Notes 1

December 13, 2011 - In a word--smooth! This wine has excellent balance between fruit, acid, and tannin. There is quite a bit more oak on this wine than the regular 2004 Brunello from Ferrero. I really enjoyed this wine, but is it really worth 2X of the regular Brunello; probably not. Nose was open for business and gave off exquisite Sangiovese aromas that continued to vary with more time in the class. Wine was opened ~3 hours prior to tasting.
