April 14, 2022 - Perhaps not as fruit forward as back in 2016 but not at all nosed over. Still maintains its strong structure and full mouth feel with loads of dark fruit and a enticing nose. Mmgood. This is still a can’t miss Cabernet.

January 11, 2020 - I opened this up worried that it would be on the decline, as the CT drinking window ended in 2017. PnP and to my delight this was far from past prime. In fact, this was stupendous. Blackberries, currants, vanilla, and tobacco were ripe on the palate. There were hints of green pepper on the nose, but thankfully none on consumption. Tannins were bold yet refined. Overall, expertly refined. The finish lasted at least 40 seconds. This was a great wine that has at least 3-5 years of prime drinking left. A true winner!

Day 2: re-corked and left on the counter. Not nearly at the level of day 1. Still enjoyable, but a lot less structured and refined.

July 20, 2016 - An absolute delight. Soft and supple. A real mouthful of juicy and tasty fulfillment. I really enjoy the product of the the top of Spring Mountain. This and the '05 are my favorite vintages. I'm enjoying this bottle in Taiwan tonight and it is transporting me right back to Steve's Spring Mountain bocce court. Hello Donna and crew. Good stuff.

4/22 Update: Came back for my last bite of the '07 Reserve. Every bit as enjoyable as back in 2016. Delish from first Pop to last Drop.

March 20, 2016 - Tasted alongside the 2012 Sherwin reserve - both were awesome but the 2007 was slightly better

November 21, 2015 - A spontaneous opening so a bit cool in the bottle initially. A dark ruby color with blackberry, boysenberry on the front. Smooth tanins and a bit of tobacco along with the dark fruit mid palate. A lingering smoth finish. A very nice cab with the grilled tenderloin we enjoyed it with.
