April 11, 2018 - Beautiful wine! Aroma of dark cherries, strawberries, tobacco, and anise. The color was a dark garnet. I was a little worried that this wine would be past its prime, but was I wrong! This wine is singing beautifully. I passed it through the aerator and decanted for an hour.

This is a classic example of a Barbera wine. It has the color and medium body feel of a powerful wine. Yet has soft berry flavors, herbaceous notes, rounded of with a backbone of tobacco and leather. This makes Barbera wines so versatile to drink. It pairs with many different kind of foods and can be imbibed though all seasons. We had it with pork cooked in milk and the wine did not overpower the meat. This wine, like the best of the Barberas, has the elegance and power of a resolute woman. Enjoy it!

September 10, 2017 - Color: medium-deep/dark ruby core -> medium ruby/garnet rim. Nose on PnP was screeching tire rubber, smoke and some black cherries; waited a full 90 minutes before the acrid elements finally began to recede to the point where it was drinkable. Rustic palate showing black fruits, earth, smoke and more earth. Full bodied but a bit astringent with a moderately long finish. Not my favourite vintage of dell'Uccellone for sure; perhaps a bit too scortchingly hot in '07 to make a great wine.

October 16, 2013 - Big and friendly; no earth-shattering complexity, but some nice planes of flavor if a slightly metallic aspect. 50/5/12/14/8

July 27, 2013 - delicious - nice and tangy barbera with lots of character. It is deep in colour and complex on the nose, shows nice herbal, ink, tar notes along with the cherry and berry fruit. Palate is similar, juicy with low tannins but zingy acidity and a good depth of flavour. Long finish.

July 19, 2013 - Very juicy and rich. Concentrated without overdoing it. Tangy acidity keeps the fruit in check. Better, to my taste, than critics suggest.
